About Hannah

Picture
Hi, I’m Hannah, a dedicated SEND tutor based in Leeds, and the founder of Hannah's Hub - a group of specialist SEND tutors across the whole of Yorkshire with a shared ethos. Our tutors offer holistic, tailored and neurodiversity affirming tuition for learners from EYFS to adulthood.

At Hannah's Hub, supporting children and young people with special educational needs is our passion! We take time to understand each learner’s unique strengths and challenges, and enjoy creating fun, engaging, and highly personalised lessons that help your child to grow in confidence and independence.

About Hannah's Hub

Since starting my SEND tuition business in 2025, I have been overwhelmed by the number of enquiries I've had from families looking for support with their child's learning and development. I'd love to support everyone personally, but with only so many hours in the day I decided instead to start a Hub - a group of experienced and committed SEND teachers with varying specialisms.

Hannah's Hub tutors all share a holistic, tailored and neurodiversity affirming approach. We are all passionate about supporting learning through a starting point of understanding of individual needs and strengths. And, with a growing group of tutors, we can match your child with the most appropriate teacher for their needs and tuition goals, as well as reaching more families across Yorkshire.

Our Approach

Picture

Holistic: We believe that confidence is critical to learning, so we aim to get to know the whole child and work with them to develop their self-belief and independent learning skills. We incorporate their interests, passions and preferred ways of working into our sessions, ensuring that they look forward to their tuition and gain skills that will help them make progress at school, and that they can take forward into all areas of life.

Tailored: We create highly bespoke planning for each learner, taking into account their strengths and interests, areas of need and learning style.

Neurodiversity Affirming: We want your child to believe in themself as a learner, and develop an understanding and appreciation of their own strengths and how they learn best. We aim to equip our students with strategies that will help them to learn in any context.

My Experience

Picture

I have experience teaching across the curriculum with learners with a wide range of needs, including severe and moderate learning disabilities, speech, language and communication needs, SEMH, Autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, Down Syndrome, global developmental delay and more, as well as those with mental health needs such as anxiety, EBSA and attachment difficulties.

Originally a secondary English teacher, I went on to teach for five years in a primary special school where I was Literacy lead, then moved back into secondary education, leading and teaching in a resourced provision for four years.

This experience in SEND education led me to 4 years working as England SEND Manager for Twinkl, an educational publishing company.

I now spend the majority of my time as a tutor for learners with SEND, as well as liaising with families and SEND tutors across Yorkshire to match the right professional with each learner in Hannah's Hub. I  also continue a part-time role at Twinkl as Development Lead for Alternative Provision.
