Where do your tutoring sessions take place? Do you offer online tutoring?
Most sessions take place in the client's home. If you would prefer an alternative location or online sessions, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. |

What ages and levels can you tutor?
Our tutors have experience teaching learners from the ages of 3-18, working at a wide range of stages. This includes neurodivergent learners, learners with profound and multiple, severe or moderate learning disabilities, specific learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Hannah's Hub tutors create tailored planning for your child based on their needs and strengths, and the aims that they and you would like to achieve.

Which subjects can you tutor?
We have tutors available who have taught across the curriculum at both the primary and secondary age range, and can provide tuition in any subject at pre-GCSE level (including Entry Levels).
At GCSE level, we are currently able to offer tuition in English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science.
Our tutors are also able to support with learning outside of the core curriculum, for example with communication, mentoring, Life Skills, preparation for adulthood, study skills and social skills.

What is the process for arranging a tutor for my child?
You can get in touch with us via email, phone or WhatsApp. Our first step is usually to arrange a phone call with Hannah to find out more about your child's needs and what your tuition goals are, and answer any questions that you have. Hannah will then send you a follow up email to confirm information such as prices and T&Cs. She will also contact the tutor or tutors she thinks will be the best match for your child to find out their availability, and will email you profile cards giving you some information about each tutor. You can also view tutor profiles on the website. Once you have all the information you need, if you'd like to go ahead just let Hannah know and she will share your child's information with the tutor. She will also ask the tutor to get in touch with you to introduce themself and arrange a date and time for the first session. Once you've had a few sessions, Hannah will get back in touch to see how everything is going, and answer any follow up questions.
What if I need to cancel or rearrange a session?
No problem - if you need to cancel a session, just let your tutor know with at least 48 hours notice and there is no charge. For cancellations with less than 48 hours notice we reserve the right to charge for the session, however if your cancellations are infrequent and unavoidable then we are unlikely to charge in the first instance.
If you need to rearrange the day or timings of your sessions, speak directly with your tutor who will be able to let you know their availability.
What happens if the tutor doesn't seem to be the right fit for my child?
We aim to match our learners carefully with the right tutor to ensure that they are able to build a great learning relationship. However we also understand that there may be times when this doesn't happen, and that for children and young people with additional needs this relationship needs to be right for learning to take place. If after 3 sessions you have concerns that they are not the right fit, or that home tuition is not going to work for your child, get in touch with Hannah and we can look to try an alternative tutor, or pause or cancel sessions if needed.

What availability do you have?
Tuition sessions can be scheduled on any day of the week, between 8am and 8pm. Please get in touch to find out our tutors' current availability.

Can you provide EOTAS/EOTIS tuition?
Yes, Hannah's Hub can provide EOTAS/EOTIS tuition packages for learners who are accessing education otherwise than in school. We are an approved provider of EOTAS for Leeds Local Authority, and deliver EOTIS in North Yorkshire. We are also currently in the process of becoming an approved provider of EOTAS across a range of other Local Authorities in Yorkshire.

Does my child need any equipment for tutoring sessions?
For most tuition, we will provide the equipment needed.
In your home tutors will require a space to work with your child that does not have too many distractions. Access to Wi-Fi is also useful.
Some sessions such as life skills may require additional equipment to be provided - if this is the case then we will discuss this in our initial meeting.

How will I know what progress my child is making?
After each session our tutors make notes on your child's learning and progress, and areas to develop further. You can view these reports by logging in to our TutorCruncher platform (login details are provided to you when you register for tuition).
If you require reports more frequently than this, or need more detailed reports or tutor attendance at meetings, then please let us know. This will be charged at an agreed rate dependent on the time required.

Do you offer tuition for home educated students?
Yes, absolutely! Whether you home educate by choice or through lack of an appropriate placement for your child, we are able to offer tuition to support their individual needs.

Are you able to offer group tuition?
Yes, we can offer group small group tuition, for example for siblings or family friends. Learners in the group do not need to be at the same age or learning level, but do need to be able to take part in the same overall topic. You can find information about group tuition costs on our prices page, but please get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
